Our Story

1996 - A small group of people began to dream about planting a church focused on biblical holiness and creating a friendly, family atmosphere.

1999 - Michael Dascoli was asked to come and assist with the church plant as the Senior Pastor. The church began meeting in the Masonic Lodge in 2000.

2000 - The church saw steady growth. A large portion of that (nearly half) were children.

2002 - A small group emphasis (30 Day Experiment and 40 Days of Purpose) was initiated and 130 people attended our Christmas Eve service.

2003 - A group of volunteers officially organized a youth ministry.

2005 – We hired our first Youth Pastor, Bobby Johnson.

2006 - Church averaged 100 in attendance per year for the first time.

2007 - In June, we hired a new Youth Pastor, Tom Cousineau.

2011 - To accommodate growth and create a more welcoming environment, we became a mobile church and moved out of the Masonic Lodge. Sunday Worship services are now held at the Estes Park High School Auditorium. The youth group began using a school gym and other church facilities. Along with a new location came a new name. We officially became Summit Church.

2015 – We launched Bobcat Camp in our local elementary school to provide a service to the families and community during Teacher In-Service Days.

Present: In the past two years, we have added a new Children’s Director, Anita Shotts as well an Associate Pastor, Aaron Bojan. Aaron and Anita are helping Summit move forward in completing the mission to which God has called us. We are about loving Estes Park with the love of Jesus while emphasizing children’s ministry and our commitment to being an outwardly-focused church.

But, the greatest highlight of all, will be the hundreds of changed lives that God will touch through the ministries of Summit Church in the days ahead!
